We are currently seeking a self-motivated Outside Sales Professional for the Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Indiana areas.

 

As a Sales Account Manager, you will be responsible for generating profitable business from the vast array of batteries, best in class ancillary power products, and propitiatory product bundles that Harris Battery offers. This will be achieved by working to develop your assigned territory through building strong customer relationships, and implement sales plans to grow business throughout the market. The successful candidate will be responsible for presenting product solutions to new and existing clients in coordination with our product managers and sales management staff. It is also important that you display excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to quickly establish a rapport with new and existing clients.

Core Functions:

  • Prepare and develop an effective sales pitch to build customer relationships, reinforce value-added services, and answer potential questions to overcome resistance and objections.
  • Service existing clients to make sure their needs are met with impeccable customer service standards.
  • Relationship development resulting in sustainable, profitable growth within your region.
  • Maximize the profitability for both the customer and Harris by matching our technical and operational abilities to the customer’s needs.
  • Generate additional sales revenue by cross-selling and up-selling to current customer needs.
  • Provide training and education to our customers to position them to maximize the value they receive from our relationship.
  • Compile lists of potential customers for use as sales leads based on information from cold calling, referrals, trade shows, community activities, and other resources.
  • Call on all customers within a five-week cycle. Collect payments from customers, as needed, and maintain accurate customer records.
  • Interface and work as a team with multiple departments within our organization.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of sales activities through the use of our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Prepare sales plans, sales reports, expense, and daily call reports.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and willingness to travel within an approximate 150 mile radius of your home office.

Job Requirements:

  • 1+ years of previous technical sales experience, preferably in a similar industry.
  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree.
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining strong customer relationships.
  • Experience and excellent knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales).
  • Sales-minded and open to making contacts in person, over the phone, and through networking.
  • Organized, with attention to detail and the ability to operate within defined parameters.
  • Self-motivated and results oriented, with ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and effective customer relations skills
  • Above average abilities with Microsoft Office, Outlook, Android, and CRM Systems. Experience with Sage X3 and Tour De Force CRM Platforms a plus.
